Become “FöJler” at BEF

The ecological volunteering year (FÖJ) is an educational year that offers young people between the age of 16 and 27 the opportunity of having their own impact on environmental protection. By working at an environmental protection organisation and participating at five seminars with all volunteers from Hamburg, you will gain a lot of sustainability expertise. The FÖJ is the perfect opportunity to acquire professional orientation and work experience.

Since 2020, the Baltic Environmental Forum is a recognized assignment location.
We offer three different placements in the fields of “climate and mobility”, ”chemicals and consumer protection”, and in the area of public relations. New FÖJ-placements can be started every year on the 1st of August.

From the beginning of each year, you can submit an application via the „FÖJ Portal“ of the „Hamburger Umweltbehörde“:

What are the FÖJler doing at BEF?
As FÖJler you get a deep insight into diverse projects and the various activities that come along with the project work. This includes public relations work by doing research, interviews and surveys, as well as the communication via social media – an important part of our work at BEF is the environmental education.
Besides the work in the office, the preparation and participation in events such as the “Hamburger Klimawoche” will bring a lot of variety to your workday. Furthermore, new ideas and suggestions are always very welcome.

We are looking forward to interested and motivated applicants!
