About me

My motivation is to develop science-based solutions to minimize the impact of climate change on ecosystems and society. While currently there is a solid scientific understanding of the consequences of climate change, the deployment of real-world responses that are fair, scalable and lead to effective climate protection remains a challenge. At BEF I wish to contribute in bridging this gap through a tighter integration between the climate science and the needs of practitioner.

After a degree in environmental engineering focusing on air quality, Luis completed a Ph.D. at the University of Greifswald. In his doctoral studies, he focussed on the costs of adaptation to climate change in European coastal countries comparing the efficacy of different management strategies under multiple climate change scenarios.
