SustainableBehaviour: Climate Action for All

Project summary

The Climate Action for All project is an Erasmus+ adult learning project, being developed and implemented by the following organisations Tudatos Vásárlók Egyesülete (TVE) Hungary, GAP Netherlands, and the Baltic Environmental Forum Germany.

The objective of the project is to develop a blended adult learning training programme that helps people in behaviour change for lower climate impact lifestyles. It will be an advanced version of the EcoTeams programmes of TVE and GAP NL and the Household Check programme of BEF, which have verified behaviour change results.

In total 15 staff members and trainers, 110 volunteer coaches and 870 final beneficiaries will participate in the co-creation and the testing of these new adult learning programmes in Hungary, in the Netherlands and Germany.

Key activities of the project involve

  • staff capacity building training
  • coach trainings
  • EcoTeams and Household Check programmes for immigrants and Roma participants, for office workers, and a new topic for households

Main results of the project

  • The trainers will learn and use blended training methods and new training techniques and will become more efficient in coaching and mentoring
  • The trained coaches will become real agents of change, who will be able to assist final beneficiaries in their behaviour change journey in climate friendly living
  • As part of the project, the partners are developing new training agendas, educational kits and online-self learning platforms for their target groups

What happened so far?

  • Our partnership has completed the staff capacity building, which consisted of a 2-day training session in Hamburg and 9 online sessions. The topics included Attkisson „Amoeba theory“, coaching and facilitation skills, empowering coaching, values-based approach to behaviour change, programme development methods, and various sessions on chemicals (in the kitchen, in articles, their relations to health and climate change), positive climate conversations, consumerism and online self-learning platforms.
  • The partners have developed their coach trainings and finalized the related tools (online self-learning platforms, training agendas, workbooks etc).
  • BEF has trained and is mentoring almost 150 coaches. They are working with offices and households of Turkish Communities and other households, and reached over 90 households/office employees so far.
  • TVE has trained 57 new coaches in 2025, who launched over 40 Simpler Life EcoTeams study groups, reaching over 200 people. The Healthy Household study groups for disadvantaged target groups and the Office EcoTeams for employees have be also tested.
  • GAP NL has trained 30 coaches during 4 trainings. The first group of coaches reached over 150 final beneficiaries, and the others are currently running a pilot campaign within their own organisations.
  • The second rounds of EcoTeams (in Hungary and the Netherlands) and the second rounds of HouseholdChecks are currently happening in the project countries.
