BALTIPLAST Final Conference in Turku: „From Waste to Wisdom: Baltic Quest for Plastic Reduction“

On 10–11 December 2025, the Final Conference of the Interreg project BALTIPLAST will take place in Turku, Finland. The event will bring together professionals, municipal representatives, researchers, NGOs, and other stakeholders committed to reducing plastic pollution and advancing the circular economy.

Through inspiring keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, participants will learn about the project’s main results – including new strategies and tools for municipalities as well as the latest research on plastic pollution in the Baltic Sea region. International experts, among them representatives from HELCOM, the Alfred Wegener Institute, and the Baltic Environmental Forum, will join speakers from Helsinki, Tallinn, Västerås, Valmiera, and Daugavpils to share their experiences and solutions.

The conference primarily targets local administrations and service providers, but also welcomes NGOs, research institutions, and businesses interested in practical approaches and capacity building for plastic waste reduction.

In addition to knowledge exchange, workshops, and an innovation fair, the program includes networking breaks, a social evening at Turku Castle, and several exciting site visits on the second day – for example to the Topinoja Waste Management Centre, a seaside sauna, or the Ruissalo Botanical Garden.

Participation in the conference is free of charge; travel and accommodation costs are to be covered by participants.

The conference language is English.
