Protecting the environment is our ultimate goal. With our activities, we want to create awareness and bring together society, business and authorities. We initiate communication and exchange of information to try to find solutions for environmental problems. Our geographical focus is the Baltic Sea region where we are particularly linked to the Baltic States and Russia, but since many years we also work in other Central and Eastern European countries, to promote environmental protection and communication about environmental problems. BEF Germany is the head office of the BEF Group, a network of altogether five non-governmental non-profit organizations. Other BEF Group members are situated in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and in Russia. With the help of the network, but also with support from other partners we are bundling competences from different areas, such as energy efficiency or chemicals management. We jointly develop our own projects and implement them ourselves. We are always open for new ideas and new topics. The following pages show you which areas we’ve been working in so far and explain our skills and capacities.
